Academic Achievement Award

Overview: In recognition of outstanding academic performance, consistent effort, and a commitment to learning.

Criteria for selection of students:

  • Consistently strong performance in core subjects (e.g., ELAL, math, science, and social).
  • Effort and improvement over time
  • Positive attitude toward learning
  • Teacher recommendation

Selection procedure of students:

  • Home room teacher will make the final decision with consultation with other teachers if appropriate and necessary. 
  • Award to be presented at the year-end assembly.
  • One award per classroom (not grade)

Artistic Excellence Award

Overview: This award recognizes students who show exceptional talent, creativity, and enthusiasm in the arts, including visual arts and music.

Criteria for selection of students:

  • Strong skills in one or more art forms (e.g., drawing, painting, music performance, singing, dance)
  • Creativity and originality in artistic expression
  • Active participation in art and music activities or performances
  • Positive attitude, teamwork, and appreciation for others’ work
  • Teacher recommendation

Selection procedure of students:

  • Home room teacher will consult the music teacher before making the final decision.
  • Award to be presented at the year-end assembly.
  • One award per classroom (not grade)

Athletic Achievement Award

Overview: This award honors students who demonstrate outstanding athletic ability, sportsmanship, and dedication in physical education and school sports. It recognizes effort, teamwork, and a positive attitude toward fitness and fair play.

Criteria for selection of students:

  • Strong performance and skills in physical activities or sports
  • Consistent effort and enthusiasm in physical education
  • Good sportsmanship and respect for teammates and opponents
  • Participation in school sports or athletic events
  • Teacher or coach recommendation

Selection procedure of students:

  • Home room teacher will consult the music teacher before making the final decision.
  • Award to be presented at the year-end assembly.
  • One award per classroom (not grade)

TEPA Book Award

Overview: TEPA has initiated and sponsors a non-academic award which will be given to one child in each classroom recognizing children who have shown a general love of school as demonstrated by their work habits, attitude, effort and pride in their studies, as well as their personal and social behaviors. 

Criteria for selection of students:

  1. This student tries hard in his/her work.  (Honors or pass not a necessity.)
  2. This student demonstrates a positive attitude and cooperative effort within the school environment.
  3. This student demonstrates the ability to work and play well with fellow students.

Selection procedure of students:

  1. Home room teacher will make the final decision with consultation with other teachers if appropriate and necessary. 
  2. Award to be given only once to a selected child within their school career. No award given in Kindergarten.
  3. Award to be presented at the year-end assembly.
  4. One award per classroom (not grade).

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.
